Using the U480 on 2005 and Up Corvette with Push Button Start

Some users of the U480 have experienced a little difficulty getting started using the scanner because of the push button start feature available on Corvettes. The following procedures have been proven to work on vehicles with this option:

Tom's Procedure

Here are the steps I followed:

1. With car OFF plug in scanner
2. Get in car and shut door
3. Press the ACC mode on the starter button
4. That should kick off the process

I believe leaving the door open or opening or closing it once the scan starts can cause an interuption of power.

I've used mine 3 times successfully following the above procedure.

Howie's Procedure

To get it to work, you must push "Enter" first after you plug in. The 2005 manual 6 speed (my car) will not allow you to turn it on or even put it in ACC unless you do that first (push enter) doors closed.
